Quality inspection reports and material documentation can be supplied for a production batch when their exact scope is agreed before quotation and order release. They are not one universal package, and they should not be assumed to accompany every shipment automatically. The buyer must define the required record, lot linkage, characteristics, sample size, test method, format and approval point; Neway must confirm that scope for the specific project.

A certificate of conformance is a declaration, not a table of measured dimensions. A raw-material certificate does not prove that a machined bore meets position. A first-article report documents an identified sample route but does not automatically demonstrate long-run process capability. Keeping these functions separate prevents a document name from being used as evidence it does not contain.
The word batch can refer to an incoming material heat, melting or holding event, casting shift, machine run, die cavity, machining lot, finishing lot, inspection lot or shipping quantity. Those groups may not align. If traceability matters, the control plan must show how identifiers travel through casting, trimming, machining, finishing, inspection and packaging, including how mixed lots are prevented or recorded.
Choose traceability depth according to failure consequence and investigation need. A commercial cover may need basic shipment and casting-lot identity. A component with pressure, safety or regulated approval requirements may need tighter linkage among material, cavity, process, machining, outside finish and test records. More granular traceability adds marking, segregation, data and review work, so include it in the commercial scope.
Name the alloy designation and governing material specification where one applies. State whether the requirement is a supplier certificate, actual chemical analysis, mechanical-property result, independent verification or a declaration concerning restricted substances. These are different requests. Also state whether the result relates to incoming material, melt sample, separately cast specimen or production component.
Reported composition can support alloy identity, but it does not prove every local property in the casting. Mechanical behavior may vary with geometry, cooling, porosity and specimen preparation. If strength, hardness, conductivity or another property is an acceptance characteristic, define the specimen location or relationship, preparation, test method and acceptance limits. The purchase requirement should not rely on a catalog value detached from the production condition.
A dimensional report should identify part number, revision, sample, cavity or fixture where relevant, drawing characteristic, nominal value, tolerance, measured result, unit and disposition. The inspection method must reproduce the drawing datum structure. A caliper reading may suit an accessible noncritical width, while a positional or profile requirement may need a fixture, CMM or dedicated gauge. Equipment names alone do not establish measurement suitability.
Agree whether the report covers all drawing characteristics, only designated key characteristics, or a production sampling plan. State how multiple cavities are represented and whether results are required after casting, machining or finish. Coating thickness and thermal exposure can change final dimensions, so a pre-finish report may not answer an assembly requirement on the completed part.
Internal-integrity, leak, coating, hardness and mechanical tests should be requested only with enough detail to execute and judge them. For radiography, define the region, technique and acceptance reference. For leak testing, define medium, pressure or vacuum, stabilization and test duration, allowable leakage and part condition. For coating, identify substrate preparation, thickness or appearance zones and any adhesion or corrosion exposure.
A test report should identify the method, equipment or laboratory, sample, conditions, result and acceptance decision. If a third-party or accredited laboratory is required, state that before quotation. Do not assume that a general inspection equipment list means every method is included for every order or is suitable for the specific acceptance criterion.
First-article documentation belongs at the initial route or after a defined change, according to the customer's rules. It records the revision, process state and samples evaluated. A production approval submission may add process flow, risk analysis, control plan, measurement studies, material evidence, capability data, appearance approval or other customer-specific elements. These packages require planning and cannot be inferred from the phrase "inspection report."
Routine batch release can then use the agreed subset of records: for example, certificate of conformance, material linkage and results for designated characteristics. The content depends on the risk and contract. The production quality-control overview helps frame inspection activity, but the purchase contract must define the records delivered for this part. Ask for a sample document set during sourcing if format or traceability is important.
